Whether you're lounging in a hammock trying to figure out the wordle of the day, hosting a gathering of friends on a sun-drenched pation(our fave!), or simply unwinding after a long day, the Limoncello Spritz adds a touch of Mediterranean flair to any summer occasion. Its bright flavors and effervescent charm make it a versatile choice that pairs beautifully with appetizers, seafood dishes, or even just a plate of fresh fruit.

The Ingredients
To craft this sunny libation, you'll need:
  • Limoncello: This vibrant lemon liqueur hails from Italy, where it's made by steeping lemon zest in alcohol and sweetening it with sugar. Its citrusy punch forms the heart of the Limoncello Spritz.
  • Prosecco: Choose a crisp and fruity prosecco to complement the limoncello. Its light bubbles add a delightful fizz and a touch of elegance to the drink.
  • Club Soda: For that effervescent lift, club soda provides a refreshing sparkle without overwhelming the bright flavors of limoncello and prosecco. We also like Fever Tree's Sparkling Lemonade... such a nice twist.
  • Fresh Lemon: A few slices of fresh lemon not only garnish the drink beautifully but also enhance its citrus aroma and flavor. Though the dried lemons are a fun touch too!
Crafting Your Limoncello Spritz
Now, let's mix up this summer sensation:
  1. Fill a Glass with Ice: Start with a large wine glass or a spritz glass filled with ice cubes. The chill will keep your spritz cool and refreshing.
  2. Add Limoncello: Pour in 2 ounces of limoncello. Adjust the amount based on how sweet or tart you prefer your spritz.
  3. Pour Prosecco: Top up the glass with 3 ounces of prosecco. The bubbles will mingle with the limoncello, creating a lively dance of flavors.
  4. Top with Club Soda: Finish off with a splash of club soda, about 1 ounce, to add a bit of fizz and balance out the sweetness.
  5. Garnish with Lemon: Drop in a couple of lemon slices for an extra burst of citrus freshness.
  6. Give It a Gentle Stir: Use a long bar spoon or a swizzle stick to gently mix the ingredients. This ensures that the flavors blend harmoniously without losing their effervescence.
